Vikings sweep San Jose City to open Coast
Anahita Miahnahri served up three aces for the 2nd straight match
The West Valley volleyball team opened Coast Conference action Wednesday with a 25-18, 25-12, 25-20 sweep at San Jose City. The Vikings (6-11, 1-0 Coast-South) countered an offensive off night at the net (.172 hitting %) with ten service aces, 49 digs and six blocks.
Sophie Ehret had a team-high seven kills and 13 digs to pace the WVC stat sheet. Julia LaPierre followed Ehret with six kills, while Francesca Zanotti recorded five kills, two aces and a match-high 26 assists. Rachel Sanchez served up three aces and came up with 11 digs. Anahita Miahnahri had three aces for the 2nd-straight match.
WVC hosts Gavilan (1-6, 0-1) Friday (10/11) at Bob Burton Court. First serve is 6:30pm.
