Unearned runs were the order of the day Tuesday, as West Valley scored four on six San Joaquin Delta errors to run-rule the Mustangs 11-3 at 52-degree Viking Field. The Vikings (8-0) crossed the plate six times in the bottom of the 6th to send everyone to the warmth of their cars an inning early.

The Vikings got all the runs they would need in a five-run 4th. WVC banged out five hits and took advantage of a trio of Delta infield errors. Tyla Arbuckle and Alina Perez each roped RBI-doubles, with Arbuckle's driving in Alexis Bojorquez-Nava and Makayla Villapando and giving the Vikings a 5-0 they would not relinquish.

The Mustangs (1-3) scored two on a Viking error in the top of the 5th and closed to within 5-3 with a run in the top of the 6th, but the Vikings put it away in the home half of the inning.

Back-to-back-to-back walks to Villapando, Marissa Rodriguez and Gabriella Diotalevi loaded the bases for Arbuckle, who sent a sharp grounder to short. A pair of Delta throwing errors on the play brought home Villapando and Rodriguez and gave WVC a 7-3 advantage. Diotalevi came home on an Andrea DeJesus SAC fly to left, and a free pass to Jasmine Mixco put runners on first and third. Arbuckle cruised home on a Raylene Cruz single to make it 9-3. Brianna Chambers Lee then ended it early with a line-drive triple to the right-centerfield fence that knocked in Mixco and Cruz for the 11-3 win.

Arbuckle ended the day 2-for-4 with two RBI, while Perez went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two RBI. Cruz, Mixco and Villapando each scored twice. Ashlie Nakano allowed just two runs on five hits, while striking out three, in 4.1 innings to pick up her 4th win of the season in the circle.

The Vikings host Modesto (5-4-1) Friday (2/14), beginning at 11:00am. Mendocino (1-1) visits Viking Field Saturday (2/15) for a noon/2:00pm doubleheader.
