Erick Villasenor handed out two assists against Marin

The West Valley men's soccer team got goals from three different players en route to a 3-1 win over the College of Marin in Friday's home opener at Dick Schwendinger Field.

Max Robles put the Vikings on the board first at 23' off the first of Erick Villasenor's two assists. James Garlick headed in a Villasenor helper at 41" to give WVC (1-1-1) a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Albin Johansson made it 3-0 with a goal from a Shawn Garlick feed in the 72nd minute. Jonathan Raphael helped the Mariners (2-3-0) avoid a shutout with a goal ten minutes later. Bryan Gutierrez had four saves to pick up the win in goal.

West Valley returns to action Sept. 16 with a home game against Folsom Lake (2-0-1). Kickoff is 1:00pm.
