Vikings pound Ohlone heading into Bruce Watson Invitational weekend

The West Valley men's water polo team stayed unbeaten in the Coast Conference with a methodical 18-7 win over outmanned Ohlone Wednesday at the WVC Aquatics Center. The Vikings (14-3, 4-0 Coast) scored the game's first 11 goals against the Renegades (7-4, 3-1), who only suited up the minimum seven players.
Zalan Hegedus and Bronson Chungson each scored three times and Tristan Grimett nabbed three of West Valley's 14 steals. William McKeon and Ethan Ivey split time in the cage, with McKeon earning the win with seven saves, and Ivey stopping four Renegade 2nd half attempts.
The Vikings host the 2024 Bruce Watson Invitational Oct. 11-12. State #1 West Valley takes on #7 American River (10-5) Friday morning at 8:00am and #10 Mt. San Antonio (12-8) at 11:45am. Saturday's slate features a 2:15 game against Cabrillo (1-13-1), followed by a 6:00pm contest vs. Sierra (3-6).
