2nd-round loss at Delta doesn't darken bright 2024 campaign
After posting the program's best record since 2006 and opening the 3C2A NorCal playoffs with a 4-0 blanking of Taft, West Valley's season ended Saturday with a 1-0 loss at 8th-seeded San Joaquin Delta. The No.9 Vikings finished the year 15-6-2 and finished second in a competitive Coast-North Conference that sent four of its six teams to the postseason.
Amanda Avila topped the state in scoring with 34 goals, which gave her a school-record 61 total goals in her two years in Saratoga. Jaz Quach dished out a state 5th-best 13 assists and goalkeeper Nevaeh Reyes ended 2024 with a 15-5-2 record and nine shutouts.
