Vikings sweep Nyquist Invitational at home with perfect 4-0 record
SARATOGA - Over the weekend the Vikings hosted the West Valley Nyquist Invitational and absolutely dominated opposing teams.
On Friday the Vikings hosted San Joaquin Delta in their first match and scored the most goals they did the whole weekend in game one. The final score was 28-6 and WVC was just getting started.
In game two, they out-dueled Long Beach leading to a 12-9 win, which would be the closest game they played all weekend.
The Vikings finished 2-0 on day one of the tournament, silencing any threat imposed on them. They outscored their opponents 40-15 on Friday and continued the predominant performance Saturday morning.
Saturday's first match saw Diablo Valley try to put a stop to the red-hot Viking offense. Not much of that was accomplished in another commanding victory for West Valley, 23-11.
At 3-0 so far on the weekend, the Vikings were looking to go a perfect 4-0 and sweep the tournament in their final game against La Verne University. WVC did just that, beating La Verne 16-9 in yet another match that was never really a contest.
After a perfect weekend, the Vikings are 6-0 overall to start their season and hope to keep the momentum rolling through Ohlone College on Wednesday.
Next game: Wednesday, September 10 @Ohlone 3:00pm
