WVC draws with Mt. SAC 1-1
On Sunday the Vikings wrapped up tournament play at the Mt. SAC Invitational down south. They matched up against the hosts of the tournament, the Mt. SAC Mounties.
West Valley was fresh off a 3-0 win vs. Fullerton on Friday to open up tournament play. Things didn't come as easy on Sunday.
After a scoreless first half, Mt. SAC's Christopher Chavez opened up the scoring in the 54th minute. 1-0 Mt. SAC.
Later in the half, the Vikings answered with Devin Rosas putting one in the back of the net. Freshman Edan Bavelock got the assist to help West Valley tie the match 1-1.
That would be all for both clubs as the match ended in that 1-1 draw.
Both clubs fought hard and the match got a bit chippy as four yellow cards were issued throughout the match.
The Vikings will take a week to rest before their first match at home next weekend.
Next game: Saturday, September 6 vs. Canada @WVC 12:00pm
