Avila hat trick leads WVC to 4-0 win at LPC
Amanda Avila leveled LPC with three goals Tuesday night
The primal force that is Amanda Avila was on display Tuesday night in West Valley's 4-0 blanking of Las Positas in Livermore. The 2023 All-American and the 3C2A's #4 scorer tormented the Hawks (4-6-1, 0-2-0 Coast-North) with a season-best three goals, giving her a team-leading 15 on the year. For the 4th consecutive fixture, West Valley (8-3-1, 2-0-0 CN) scored inside the opening five minutes, this time on an Avila 2nd-minute screamer from Andrea Gonzalez. The pair teamed up again in the 42nd minute with another Avila tally.
Jaz Quach converted a Laura Hernandez helper into a 3-0 WVC lead at 75', and Avila blasted in a penalty kick in stoppage time to close out the scoring. Netminder Nevaeh Reyes stopped all three Hawk shots to record her 5th clean sheet and improve her 2024 record to 8-2-1.
West Valley hosts talented CaƱada (6-2-2, 1-0-0 Coast-South) Friday (10/11). Kickoff at Dick Schwendinger Field is 4:00pm.
